- Ram memory
It is common for users to encounter technical problems when using old software like M2TW. It is only designed to address 2GB of RAM, regardless of the user's actual hardware capabilities, and this limitation can cause stability problems for large mods such as Westeros-DS.
There are third-party utilities that can solve this problem.
We recommend the "4gb_patch", which can be found in the "tools" folder. Use at your own risk! Please always save the kingdoms.exe or medieval2.exe before patching.

- Windowed
The window mode is much more stable than the regular mode. The window mode is activated by default. Just adjust your resolution. Open the Config.cfg in the folder Westeros_DS with a text editor and make sure that the following line is unchanged:
[video]
windowed = 1
Then change the following values to match the resolution of your screen:
campaign_resolution = 1280 1024
battle_resolution = 1280 1024
e.g. change to
campaign_resolution = 1920 1080
battle_resolution = 1920 1080
(Right click on your desktop and display settings will give you your screen resolution).

- Memory leaks
The game will take up more and more memory as the game progresses. After a few hours the game may crash or switch graphics. If you see buttons that are replaced by faces or buildings, save the game immediately and quit it to avoid an impending crash. It's a good idea to save and quit every few hours to empty the memory.
